There are several SNES multitap adapters which allow more than 2 controllers to be connected to the console. They all function similarly. The multitap contains four controller ports, and is connected to the second controller port on the SNES. One controller can be plugged into the first controller port on the SNES, bringing the total to 5. Only one multitap can be connected at a time. Multitaps were manufactured by Hudson, Bullet-Proof Software, and Interact/STD.
