Backbone Entertainment

Overview

Backbone Entertainment was established in 2003 as a merger between Digital Eclipse Software, Inc. and ImaginEngine Corp. Two years later, the company merged with The Collective into Foundation 9 Entertainment.

The company is now considered a division of Foundation 9 Entertainment, with two studios: Backbone Emeryville (California) and Backbone Vancouver aka Digital Eclipse Software, Inc. (British Columbia). A third studio, Backbone Charlottetown (based in Prince Edward Island, Canada) was spun off In May 2005 and is now known as Other Ocean Interactive Ltd.
