Overview edit · view history

Beamdog is the company behind the game distribution portal of the same name. It is operated by the company IdeaSpark Labs and it is based in Canada. The company was founded in 2009 by Cameron Tofer and Trent Oster. The distribution service was first announced in July 2010.

Beamdog is also associated with development, first with the Wii port of MDK 2 (May 2011) and later through the internal division Overhaul Games for the October 2011 Windows MDK2 HD release of the same game, where the name Beamdog is also used for publishing.

During the 2010s, they created Enhanced Editions of multiple classic Dungeons & Dragons RPG games, including new content for some of them, like Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition - Siege of Dragonspear.

As of 13 April 2022, Beamdog has been part of the Aspyr Media division within the Embracer Group.
