Trivia:

The Serious engine was designed to render several items at the same time. However, There was a trade-off. The Serious engine can only render in 2.5 Dimensions, similar to Doom I & II and Duke Nukem 3D.

The Croteam developed the Serious engine to support both OpenGL and DirectX. Its one of the few 3D engines to have that option.
