Overviewdoublesix is a development studio based in the heart of Guildford (UK) and it was initially established as one of the regional studios of Kuju Entertainment Ltd. It was founded on 30th November 2007 when Kuju re-branded all its development teams and asked each for a specific focus. doublesix chose downloadable games for console and PCs and doublesix was headed by James Brooksby.
The division is built around the teams that created Geometry Wars: Galaxies and Nucleus. The first game under the company's new moniker was the arena-based score-attack shooter Burn, Zombie Burn! (2009), followed by South Park: Let's Go Tower Defense Play! in the same year. In August 2010 Top Gun was released, an arcade-like flight game based on the movie of the same name.
On 1st September 2010 the company announced to break away from the Kuju parent label and become a separate entity. It became the gaming division of Catalis under the leadership of Kuju CEO Nigel Robbins. The other two divisions of Catalis are Kuju itself and Testronic Labs.
