Overview

Electronic Arts Los Angeles (EALA) is the creative destination for game development in Southern California . The studio was formed by the fusion of three EA studios: Dreamworks, Westwood Studios and EA Pacific. EALA continues to drive innovation in game technology and design by employing a first-class creative staff of game and film industry talent. EALA develops and produces games for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system from Sony, Xbox’ video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube’, Game Boy® Advance and the PC.

EALA uses technology and creativity to create mainstream entertainment through an interactive medium. To achieve deep interactive cinematic experiences, the studio combines diverse talents such as engineering, high-end digital artists, animators, lighters and modelers with contributions from storywriters, film directors, musicians, and audio directors.

After a two-year publishing partnership with DreamWorks Interactive, EA acquired the company in February 2000 and renamed it Electronic Arts Los Angeles. DreamWorks Interactive (DWI) was the studio responsible for such top-selling PlayStation® titles as Lost World: Jurassic Park and the highly-acclaimed Medal of Honor’ .

In January 2004, EALA relocated to a new, custom-designed West Los Angeles campus, which can house an additional 650+ development experts and creative artists, planned to be hired before the end of the decade.
