Overview
Founded in 2000 with a focus on massively multiplayer online PC games, Emergent’s mission has broadened to include single player and multiplayer games, video game consoles from
Sony,
Microsoft, and
Nintendo, test and build technologies to accelerate the game development process, and services to ease the development of any game and the hosting of multiplayer games. In 2005, Emergent merged with
NDL and now includes the Gamebryo 3D graphics engine and tools in its product line, which has been trusted by developers to create games such as
Sid Meier's Pirates!,
Civilization IV, the
Dark Age of Camelot series,
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (an Xbox 360 title), and
Freedom Force. Emergent is committed to being the leading provider of any tools and technologies needed by game developers.
Emergent is headquartered in Calabasas, California, and has offices in Chapel Hill, N.C., Walnut Creek, California, and Austin, TX, and London.
