FASA Studio
Overview
FASA Studio, formerly FASA Interactive, was especially knows for its contributions to the
MechWarrior series, and establishing the
Mech Commander series. On 19th November 1998 they became a development studio for
Microsoft. They only moved away from the
FASA-licensed BattleTech games twice, with
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge in 2003 and their final game
Shadowrun in 2007. The company closed its doors on 13th September 2007.

The word FASA is an acronym for "
Freedonian Aeronautics and Space Administration". The name was invented by
Jordan Weisman, the original founder of FASA Games.
