Overview

GamersGate AB is a worldwide digital distribution portal which was launched in April 2006 by Paradox Interactive. Theodore Bergquist is President and CEO of GamersGate as well as Paradox Interactive AB.

GamersGate acquires the gaming rights from the original publishers or developing companies in the form of licenses or complete brands. Then the games, originally available only on retail store shelves, are re-released and are available for purchase by download.

The service especially appeals to the niche market of turn-based real-time strategy games, which constantly make up the weekly list of best selling games on the site.
