Overview
Founded in 1995, Her Interactive began its life as "Games For Her", a division of
American Laser Games located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As part of American Laser, their primary function was the development of "live-action" software specifically for girls. Their first title,
McKenzie & Co., was released that same year followed in 1996 by
The Vampire Diaries.
In 1997, the Her Interactive division secured the much-sought-after rights to produce games starring Nancy Drew, the famous teenage detective, from copyright owner
Simon & Schuster.
In an unprecedented move, Her Interactive bought out American Laser in 1999. The following year, Her Interactive sold American Laser to
Digital Leisure Inc.As quoted from the Her Interactive website:
