High Moon Studios, Inc.

Overview

The company was established as Sammy Entertainment, Inc. in April 2001 as a subsidiary of Sammy USA Corporation. Based in Century City, California, this division was started to strengthen the company's presence in the consumer market. In 2002 the name was changed to Sammy Studio, Inc. and the company moved to San Diego, California (US).

The company became independent in March 2005 when Chief Operating Officer John Rowe bought the company from Sammy Corporation. The name was then changed to High Moon Studios, Inc. High Moon is best known for its first-person shooter Darkwatch.

In January 2006 the company lost its independent status again when it was acquired by Vivendi Universal Games.
