JGI Entertainment (Just Games Interactive Entertainment) was originally formed as Jailed Games Inc. by Daryl Pitts and Linus Chen in September 2002. It began as an independent game development company located in Santa Monica, California.

The JGI Entertainment name was adopted in approximately 2006.
