Kaiko

Overview

Founded by Chris Hülsbeck (sound), Frank Matzke (graphics) and Peter Thierolf (programming), Kaiko was actually a label of AUDIOS. The name was chosen to reflect the Japanese style that permeated most of their games, under influence of Japanese comics and animation as well as arcade games, which can be traced back to the games by West-German developer Factor 5, where Chris had worked before and where Frank would also eventually work. By 1993, the company finances were too bad for development to continue, and it was ultimately disbanded around 1995.
