Kure Software Koubou
OverviewKure Software Koubou (呉ソフトウェア工房) is a game developer based in Saitama, Japan. The company was founded in 1985 by Eiji Kure, who formerly designed games for Bullet-Proof Software. The company debuted with the overhead shooter Gamma5 (1986), followed shortly afterwards by the 3D RPG Argo.
Silver Ghost (1988) was the first game to utilizes Kure's trademark "gocha-kyara" (ゴチャキャラ, "mixed-up characters") system, which combined elements of real-time strategy with role-playing and action. Their subsequent games (including their most popular series First Queen) focused on that system with a varying emphasis on its genre aspects.
Their activity slowed down significantly after they released First Queen: The New World, the first 3D installment of their flagship franchise. Since then they only produced remakes of earlier First Queen games and a few casual downloadable sports titles.
