MichTron Corp.

Overview

Michtron is the name that Computer Shack changed to on February 6, 1984, as a result of both legal pressure from Radio Shack, and due to the fact that they were expanding beyond just Radio Shack/Tandy computers into other markets (including the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga).

Michtron still sold software for at least the TRS-80 Color Computer for several years after their name change, as well as for their new markets.

A more detailed history of the early days of Computer Shack/Michtron can be found here.
