Overworks

Overview

The company was founded in 1996 as SEGA's second consumer R&D department (Sega AM7 R&D Division). In 2000, under the leadership of Noriyoshi Ohba, Overworks was formed. It lasted until October 2003, when it was merged with Wow Entertainment into SEGA Wow Inc.

Overworks is known for its RPG games in Japan, with hits such as Sakura Taisen 3, Atsumare! Guru Guru Onsen and Skies of Arcadia. The members of the company have also been involved with classic SEGA titles such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage and Phantasy Star.

They're famous for the Sakura Taisen series, but they also did Riglord Saga 2, Deep Fear, and various Saturn ports such as Sega Rally Championship and Daytona USA.
