Primal Software
Overview
Primal Software was first founded in Moscow in 1996. It was then called SBG Co. Ltd. and was doing multimedia encyclopedias and other multimedia titles on the Russian computer entertainment market. Since that time (up to 1998) they have completed more than ten full-scale multimedia encyclopedias for a variety of publishers: Cats, Dogs, Carnivores, Dinosaurs, Exotic Birds, etc.
In 1999 they completed their first full scale computer game. An award winning, best selling comedy-adventure title, called "Petka". It came out on three CD's (high resolution graphics and over 8 hours of speech) and was published by "Buka Entertainment" and became an instant hit and a national bestseller. Over a hundred thousand units were sold in the first three months! Ten months later, in 2000 they completed it's sequel, called "Petka 2 - Judgment Day", which also became a national bestseller. Together both titles sold more than 250,000 units which is a record for Russian market.
In 2001 they formed a new company, called "Primal Software" to reflect their decision to concentrate all of their efforts on providing the gamers with their most primal needs: fun & addictive gameplay, cool visuals and bleeding edge technology in their games.
They have 38 people currently employed. Highly qualified programmers, 3D modelers, artists, a music/sfx engineer, etc. All current team members are working together for at least three (mostly five) years.
