Realmforge Studios GmbH
Overview
Realmforge Studios is a German development studio of which the formation was announced on 14th November 2008. It was launched by the publishing company
Kalypso Media and the development studio
Boxed Dreams, but it was largely funded by Kalypso Media which is also the majority shareholder. At its launch, Boxed Dreams was still completing its PC title
Ceville, but the ten members of the development team were absorbed into the new studio.
After the adventure game
Ceville in 2009 the team released the quirky TV station management game
M.U.D. TV - Mad Ugly Dirty Television in 2010. In 2011 a new franchise was launched with
Dungeons. It is a dungeon management game similar to the
Dungeon Keeper series, but with the goal of making the heroes happy. The sequel
Dungeons: The Dark Lord was released in the same year.
Next to original development projects the team contributed artwork for fellow German productions, most notably a number of games in the
Patrician series in 2010 and 2011.
