Overview

rocketscience games development GmbH was a German development company, founded through the merger of ZEAL GmbH and Spielkind GmbH in 2006. The new name for the merged company was announced in August 2007.

It was one of the most experienced PC and video games developers in Germany and comprised a core team of 30 dedicated developers and a veteran management team. The studio had particular expertise in the life sim, jump’n’run, action-adventure and strategy genres.

rocketscience games had an international client portfolio that included, among others, Atari, Black Lion Studios, dtp young entertainment, SimBin and Ubisoft.

rocketscience games is insolvent. A petition in bankruptcy was filed at the local district court at January 19th, 2009. At the end of March 2009, the company was shut down.

The order of the court to institute bankruptcy proceedings was filed on April 1st, 2009. As for today (May 9th, 2009), the company is in insolvency proceedings.
