Overview

Incorporated in 1993, Stardock began as a software developer for IBM's OS/2 operating system. In 1999, Stardock shifted its development efforts to Microsoft Windows with software that targeted the consumer desktop, PC games, and enterprise software.

Since 2000, Stardock has seen consistent growth across its product offerings. Today, it is the world's leading developer of PC desktop enhancement software and increasingly seen as a reliable provider of tools for both the SOHO and enterprise markets.

Popular Stardock software such as Object Desktop and its core components including WindowBlinds, DesktopX, IconPackager, and Theme Manager are used by millions of users worldwide.

In addition, its games division has had significant success with award-winning titles such as The Political Machine and the best-selling Galactic Civilizations franchise.

Stardock is privately owned and is based primarily in Plymouth, Michigan.
