Telesys

Overview

Telesys was a video game publisher formed by Richard Taylor in 1982. The company was based in Fremont, California.

Telesys released six original titles for the Atari 2600. They showed some early promise, but never became quite the success they had hoped for amidst the many companies battling for attention and business in the increasingly crowded video game market of 1982-83.

Telesys had hoped to enter the computer market as well, and they were working on titles for the Atari 8-bit computer when they succumbed to the video game crash of 1983-84. A few of their titles were not widely distributed and have become collectible today.

Trivia

Telesys game cartridges came in two styles. The company originally used a custom case with a small "handle" on the end. They later switched to a standard rectangular case that was used by several other companies to minimize costs. As an additional cost-cutting measure, a few of the games in standard cases had black and white face labels and no end labels.
