Atari Overseas Services Limited was established in the UK on September 23, 1988 after parent company Atari Games Corporation took over operations of Legibus 1194 Limited (established on May 10, 1988).

On September 12, 1994, Atari Overseas Services was renamed Time Warner Interactive Ltd.

While Time Warner Interactive was sold to WMS Industries Inc. in 1996, the UK branch was retained by Time Warner and merged with Warner Interactive Entertainment Ltd.

Time Warner Interactive Ltd. was dissolved by July 29, 1996, while Warner Interactive Entertainment was acquired by GT Interactive Software Corp. in November of that year.
