Midway Games Ltd., headquartered in London, UK, was the European publishing subsidiary of
Midway Games Inc. It ran into trouble when the main Midway company filed for bankruptcy in February 2009. On 20th August Spiess Media Holding announced to have completed the buy-out of the division. Spiess Media Holding is a company owned by
Martin Spiess, Midway's former international executive vice president. Renamed Tradewest Games Ltd. on 21st August 2009, the division became a publishing and distribution business operating under the name Tradewest as Spiess also acquired the rights to that North American games brand.
