Vicious Cycle Software, Inc.

Overview

When layoffs at Hasbro Interactive closed the MicroProse development studio in Chapel Hill, North Carolina (USA) in January 2000, many of team members stayed together and founded Vicious Cycle Software in less than four months, officially opening doors on 3rd April, 2000.

On 20th June, 2007, it was officially announced Vicious Cycle Software was acquired by D3 Publisher of America, Inc. and became a subsidiary of the company. Previously, Vicious Cycle Software had already worked together with D3, as a developer or co-developer for games D3 published, such as Dead Head Fred, Flushed Away, Aardman, and the PSP SKU of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. After the acquisition, Eric Peterson remained President and Wayne Harvey Vice President of Vicious Cycle Software. No re-location was needed.

Next to original and licensed intellectual property, the company has also developed the Vicious Engine development technology for consoles, handhelds and the PC. In 2007, the company employs about 50 people.

In September 2014 the studio was acquired by publishing company Little Orbit.
