Overview
Wadjet Eye Games is an independent software developer founded by
Dave Gilbert. The first commercial game,
The Shivah, was released in August 2006, followed by
The Blackwell Legacy in December 2006 and
Blackwell Unbound in September 2007.
In February 2009
Emerald City Confidential was released, an adventure based on the
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz universe of the novel by
L. Frank Baum. While all other Wadjet Eye projects were previously completely independent, this title was made for
PlayFirst, Inc. It had a larger development team and did not use the
Adventure Game Studio engine.
Trivia
In ancient Egypt, the Wadjet Eye symbolized the left eye of Horus, and represents healing, protection, strength, and the act of "making whole."
