us.playstation.com Frank O'Malley brings more than 35 years of business and sales experience in the videogame industry to his position as vice president, sales, Sony Computer Entertainment America. O’Malley is responsible for accelerating category momentum and expanding the company’s leadership position by forging sales relationships to increase and enhance sales, distribution, retail opportunities and channel marketing.
O’Malley began his tenure at Sony Computer Entertainment America in 1995, when he joined the PlayStation sales team as the eastern regional sales manager. While at the company, O’Malley played a key role in developing and expanding the company’s retail and distribution infrastructure and relationships, which have evolved considerably since the introduction of the PlayStation game console in 1995.
O’Malley’s background in the videogame industry started in 1981 when he joined Atari, as national accounts manager. He also gained significant sales experience while working with leading developer, Electronic Arts, where he escalated the company’s sales efforts by expanding retail and distribution channels. Prior to joining Sony Computer Entertainment America, O’Malley held various sales positions with Mindscape/Software Toolworks, a publisher of PC software and videogames. In addition to his extensive background in the videogame industry, O’Malley also spent several years in the toy industry as vice president, sales at Marx Toys.
O’Malley obtained a bachelor of science degree from the University of Scranton and pursued graduate studies at both University of Scranton and the University of Bridgeport.
