Born on December 10, 1957 in London, Paul Hardcastle is an English composer and musician that had his greatest hit in 1985 with the song 19 which hit the number one in 13 countries and has sold ca. 3 million copies worldwide. The title comes from an ABC documentary named Vietnam Requiem in which it is claimed that the average age of an American soldier in the Vietnam War was nineteen.
A version of Hardcastle's song is used in Artronic Limited's game 19 Part 1: Boot Camp which inspired the programmers to create the game.
