Biography edit · view history

Christian started his career with a VIC-20 in 1984. His first game was a text-based RPG. In the BBS heyday, he wrote a persistent online RPG in Pascal where users could interact in shared environment. This was his first work in the MOG space that continues to this day. He was also a contributor for the first DOOM editor, DEU, and was involved with the development of SirDoom.

After studying Information Systems Science and Engineering at RMIT in Melbourne, Christian entered commercial game development by joining Beam Software in Melbourne, Australia in 1994. After learning the art and craft of high-performance assembly language, and helping to write games Bug! and Gex, he left to join the start-up company DragonLore, focused on creating the first online RPG.

This venture did not succeed, and hence Christian helped lead the development of the first 3D RTS games, WarTorn at Eyst in 1999. After completion, he went on to work with Micro Forté to provide the basis for the BigWorld MOG architecture.

In 2001-2, Christian took a year from active development to lead the creation and delivery of the first fully accredited Game Development Diploma in Australia at the University of Queensland and QANTM CMC. Since then, he has collaborated with some of the leading names in game development, including Auran, Tantalus, and Sidhe Interactive. He also worked with Electronic Arts in Germany, leading the development of their online game server systems.

In 2008 Christian moved to New Zealand and made Shatter for Sidhe Interactive. He then went on to work with Grinding Gear Games on Path of Exile before returning to Australia in 2010 to take a the role of Technical Lead at GamesLab.

After moving back to Melbourne and spending a few years contracting with various interactive experience companies like ENESS, Christian has found a home at TwoBulls as a Senior developer of mobile and VR/AR experiences.
