Damien Yoccoz

Developer Biography

Passionate gamer since the age of four year old, Damien Yoccoz grew up with a pad in his hands. Localization in the 90s was not such an important matter as it can be nowadays, from that, he developed his skills in languages mostly through videogames.

After a three year course in English studies, he made his first steps in the industry in 2009, working as a linguistic tester in Quebec for the top testing company, Enzyme Testing Labs. During his year and a half there, he contributed to the development of the following AAA titles: Star Wars: The Old Republic (PC), Anno 1404: Dawn of Discovery (PC), Ghostbusters - The Video Game (PSP), No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle (Wii), The Eye Of Judgment (PSP), Monkey Island 2 : SE (X360/iPad), Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (PSP), Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (PSP).

He left Canada for Spain in 2010, working with Localsoft. As a linguistic tester he worked on the following projects: BRINK (X360/PS3/PC), Mortal Kombat (X360/PS3), Hunted: The Demon's Forge (X360/PS3/PC). He's also been charged to supervise the French voiceover recording for Hunted: The Demon's Forge.

Starting a translator career in 2011, he founded Level-Up Translation and is credited for the localization of the free MMORPG Lucent Heart as well as many iPhone & Android games, manuals (Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Street Fighter X Tekken), strategy guides for Hitman Absolution, Bioshock Infinite, Remember Me, The Last of Us, Diablo III & DLC: Reaper of Souls and Batman Arkham Origins.
