Stuart Duffield


Developer BIO

Stuart Duffield is a Composer and Sound Designer based in the UK, and has worked in the games industry since 1994.

He started in the industry working for Psygnosis as Composer and Sound Designer. He worked on numerous titles over a 5 year period, until Sony closed the studio in 1999.

Stuart was employed by Acclaim Studios from 1999 until 2004 based at their Cheltenham office. He was responsible for Music Composition and Sound Design for all internal games. He was later promoted to Audio Manager, and again to Audio Director position - managing the audio for various large-scale AAA games. He worked on many titles, and also supported other Acclaim games being developed elsewhere. He continued in this role until Acclaim went bankrupt in 2004.

Stuart worked freelance from 2004 until 2006, continuing to build relationships in the industry in the UK and the US.

He took a Senior Audio Designer position at Blitz Games during 2006 on a short-term contract basis. Following successful completion of a major project with Blitz, Stuart returned to working freelance until July 2007.

He worked for Rebellion (Derby) as a Lead Audio Designer from August 2007 until July 2008. After successfully completing a major next-gen title, Stuart returned again to working freelance.
