'Manda's career started as an artist and writer on Ultima 6, by Origin, where she is known as Penumbra. She has also worked for Apogee and Optigon / Total Entertainment Network.

She worked with Jeff Dee in his company, Unigames. She co-created the multiplayer on-line fantasy Furcadia, where she is known as "Talzhemir".
