Ben Houge

Developer Biography

Ben Houge has been designing audio for digital games since moving to Seattle in 1996 to work on Sierra Entertainment's Leisure Suit Larry 7. For the next seven years, he contributed to many of Sierra's most prominent games, including Half-Life: Opposing Force, King's Quest: Mask of Eternity, and Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura. In April 2003, Ben left Sierra to work as a freelance audio designer, whose clients included Microsoft Game Studios and Arena.net. In August 2004 Ben accepted a position as Senior Audio Designer at Ubisoft's studio in Shanghai.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and a Master of Music degree from the University of Washington in Seattle. In addition to his work in games, he has produced the Sound Currents concert series, served as the vice-president of the Seattle Composers Alliance, and contributed to the Seattle School composers' collective.
