Bretton WadeDeveloper BIOBretton joined Firaxis in 2005, bringing with him more than 10 years experience in games and computer graphics, and a focus on excellence.“My goal is to build on Firaxis’s tremendous success in game design and establish the company as a technical leader in the games industry as well,” Bretton said.
In his previous role as the Program Manager for Graphics System Software on Xbox 360, Bretton helped to define the way thousands of game developers build games for the next-gen console.
His understanding of the PC platform and the process of developing AAA titles was gained in prior roles as a title lead for an independent game studio, development lead on Microsoft's Flight Simulator, and individual contributor roles in a variety of titles published by Microsoft Game Studios. He worked on VR authoring tools at SGI, and was a research engineer for Advanced Rendering Technology and for Microsoft Research.
He is a graduate of Virginia Tech, and holds a master's degree from the Cornell University Program of Computer Graphics.
