Ian had a short stay in the gaming industry.

Here's the gaming bit's from his old resume:

Supervision 1993-1994:

Arcade game programming, hardware troubleshooting in C, C++, Pascal and 34010 assembly. Developed painting software and file conversion routines. Designed and tested low level routines for supporting an IDE hard drive and a MIDI based music board. Main project there was work on Punky Doodle, a Halloween themed arcade game where players raw around a pumpkin patch drawing a line behind them as a path for a pumpkin to go wizzing along clobbering the various baddies.

CinePlay / Will Vinton Studios, 1991:

80286/386 assembly, C development for PC based computer games. Debugging, graphics, compression and interface development on 2 games: Earthling/Free DC.

His favorite game thing that he has done:

He made his own NES development system back in the day consisting of a battery backed ram cart and a custom interface card for the Apple II GS.

In 2009 he was developing application software for scientific instruments. Not so much fun but the hours are better and it pays the bills.
