Martin Tremblay

Developer Biography

After having joined Ubisoft back in 1999, Martin Tremblay was named Managing Director, and later President and COO of Ubisoft’s Montreal studio in September 2000. His main objective: to position the Montreal production studio in the best of the industry by developing high quality games to surpass gamer’s expectations. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Black Arrow and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time are among the studio’s biggest successes.

Martin Tremblay is on the board of directors of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, based in Los Angeles. He is also on the boards for the Montreal Metropolitain Chamber of Commerce and the French Chamber of Commerce in Canada. In addition, he is member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO).

On 19th April 2006, he was appointed President of Vivendi's Worldwide Studios, where he is responsible for setting the vision for the company's products, overseeing operations of internal studios, and managing external development relationships. In May 2006, he was sued by his former employee Ubisoft over this move, due to a one-year non-compete clause barring employees to jump ship to another developer/publisher, which he had supported in the past.
