His work on the 48 Hour Film Project for team NALIP earned the Producer's award for "Best Sound" and "Best Music" in 2004.

In 2006, The Reckoning, which stars actor Jaime Velez (Carlito's Way: Rise to Power, Law & Order), and Monique Gabriela Curnen (Maria Full of Grace, Lady in the Water) premiered at the Mezcla Latino International Film Festival. The short film received the Best Suspense Short Award at the festival. The ominous score was composed by Joe.
