Sylvester Hesp was born in Vianen, The Netherlands, in 1981, and became interested in computer programming when he was a 10-year-old. He started his professional gamedevelopment experience during an internship at Engine Software in 2003, and a year after getting his Bachelor's degree in Informatics he joined Nixxes Software BV - a Dutch game technology company that works closely together with Crystal Dynamics - in 2004.
