Developer Biography

Bill Mauer started in gaming by making casual games for SOE. After a couple of years, he decided to move on and help start an internationalization group. Many fun years were had before the hours cut into play time with the kids, and so he decided to move to Austin, Texas.

Bill then worked for another few years at SOE's Austin studio before deciding to move on and try non-MMO games after 6.5 years. He went to Aspyr to be lead on The Sims: Castaway Stories.

After becoming Development Director at Aspyr it was time to go back to programming and learn some of the new technologies. Certain Affinity was the place to go, and he started there in April 2009 as the company's Senior Software Engineer.

Bill graduated from Clarkson University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
