I always loved drawing, cartoons, videogames and scuplting. But everyone always told me that it was hard to make a living as an artist. So around High School I started thinking about what I could do about that. I got my first PC as a freshman in HS and then bought Quake 1. After discovering that any schmuck in the world could edit that game into whatever they wanted, I got really excited. I did some research on some 3d software and discovered 3d studio r4 (still a dos prog). I saved up all my money (1200$) and bought whole thing. After a couple of years of playing around with it I upgraded to Max 2 as a senior in HS and created my first animated short "Jacketman." It was about 4 mins long and was about our mascot as a superhero.

After graduation I went to the Art Institute of Dallas and majored in Computer Animation. While attending there I was also doing volunteer teaching at my old high school. I was mentoring them through a national Robotics Competition called FIRST. They had to create a 30 sec animation with 3d max. It was very gratifing to watch my students grow as artists. In fact they became so good that they won the whole competition! Also that year I landed my first art job, as freelance artist doing 3d Star Wars models for Decipher Inc. That was just cool!

So after graduating from the Art Institute and about a year and half at a video store, I finally ended up here! And I wouldnt change a thing.
