Developer Biography

Roger Wernersson has been playing games for as long as he can remember. It is the reason he got into software development in the first place as there were not many games around back in 1981, so he had to write them himself.

He got his first computer job the next year, 1982, at the age of 14, teaching programming to fellow students, paid by the school. His first job in computer games was converting a game from Amiga to Atari ST in 1988.

Then there was a big leap during which he was developing software for a number of different industries; cosmetics, power companies, video rental, architects, pharmaceuticals, and more. He found his way back as a network- and server-programmer for the MMO Project Entropia in 1999.

After a couple of years on Project Entropia he moved to London, U.K. for personal reasons. He spent a year at Elixir Studios working on a couple of never released titles, mostly on an MMO before moving on to Qube Software.

At Qube he was part of a number of projects, most were never released, and some were more edutainment oriented; among them were Earthsim and Lego Digital Designer.

After four years at Qube he joined Kuju London and helped out on Battalion Wars 2. According to Roger, working with Nintendo taught him a lot.

It was time to move back to Sweden, where there weren't many games companies, so he went to the mobile phone industry, but he couldn't stay away so after a bit more than a year he joined ManagerZone.
