Carsten Orthbandt

Developer BIO

Carsten Orthbandt is one of the founders and development director of SEK. He was born in Berlin in 1973.

'I'm not a vegetarian, I just don't eat meat', goes Carsten and puts another slice of cheese on his pizza. The only thing Carsten doesn't like about pizza is that it's round (apparently an unbearable idea for programmers). 'Hudi' has been programming since his childhood, which ended, if ever, with the ZX81. He's been programming games since 1994 and been working together with the two founders Thomas and Ingo since then. By now he has refined his programming skills so much that he has to read Martin Heidegger to learn anything new at all. If that's too freaky for you, you can challenge him to a match of Counterstrike, Doppelkopf or soccer -- though he achieved some remarkable feats in each of these, and in soccer at least, some remarkable injuries. At SEK, Carsten leads the programming department. And so his journey through life could have been of admirable straightness, hadn't there been… back in 8th grade… the thing with the tutu. Why did he have to perform 'Swan Lake' in front of all these people??

In January 2007, Orthbandt founded pixeltamer.net with Ingo Neumann, Jasmin Kassner and Christoph Pech concentrating on the Browsergame Markt now.
