James Justin

Developer BIO

I've been a professional game programmer since April, 1996. I've worked on Starfleet Academy (PC), NFL Blitz (PsOne), NFL Blitz 2000 (PsOne), Kurt Warner's Arena Football Unleashed (PsOne), Spyro: Year of the Dragon (PsOne), Ratchet & Clank (PS2) and X-Men: Legends (GC, PS2, XBox). I'm able to learn new tasks quickly, so I've worked on programming tasks ranging from writing a sound engine to creating special effects to gameplay to AI. I've also been a lead programmer. I'm currently working at Raven Software as a gameplay programmer.

On the tiny amount of spare time I have, I write science fiction & fantasy stories, research AI, and write small games of my own-- none of which I intend to publish. I write these games mainly to explore new technologies that may be used in future professional products. That's how I got into the industry in the first place. I've been coding games on my own since 1987.

I'm also helping to create the next generation of game developers. On March 21st, 2004 my son Xyzik was born. While he's not yet beating me at the games I've created, I'm certain it won't be long before he's waxing the floor with my butt!
