A long-time staffer at Konami, Etsunobu Ebisu (蛭子悦延) was one of the main creative forces behind the Ganbare Goemon series, and was even the model for the character Ebisumaru. In 2005, he left Konami along with Shigeharu Umezaki and a group of other staffers to establish the development studio Good-Feel.
