After leaving Art college in 1990, Darren established a career in London, UK as a commercial illustrator. He worked for the world renowned Artist’s agents ‘illustrationrgb’ and made a successful freelance career in illustration for the publishing and advertising industries, specializing mainly in realistic airbrush illustration. Darren has many artworks in print including a technical illustration on permanent display in London’s Transport museum.
In the early 90’s he developed a strong interest in computer graphics. Darren learned 3D modeling and animation techniques with Autodesks’ 3dstudio release 4. After its release and subsequent huge impact on the videogame industry he began editing id softwares’ ‘Quake’. Darren became part of the early third party game editing community and eventually decided to turn his hobby into a career.
He began employment with Electronic Arts UK as a 3D character artist in 1997. Darren is still employed as a Lead Character Artist at EA Redwood Shores in California to this date.
