Mat first encountered many of the Tilted Mill team during a stint testing Lords of Magic and Civil War Generals II at Impressions in the fall of 1997. After completing a Fine Arts degree in 1998 typical Harvard delusions of grandeur led him to found his own company Zero Sum Software in 1998 to produce an epic shareware RPG, Prelude to Darkness.
After serving as creative director, lead programmer, and co-manager of Zero Sum for four years, Mat decided he’d had enough of living on bread and water and jumped at the chance to receive an actual paycheck and return to his adopted hometown of Boston. Besides creating games Mat’s other passions include monkeys, Guinness, bad movies, set design, film animation, golf and Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better. Games Mat has worked on include:
