Ron attended postgraduate studies at Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta and later completed merchandising studies with Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. His background includes a variety of roles in retail business management, sales, marketing, technology product development and consulting.

During his term as Merchandise Development Manager for Mohawk Oil, Ron was responsible for the development of new merchandising programs for over 300 company owned gas station and convenience stores, as well as 1,000 dealer locations.

In 1989 Ron moved to Advanced Gravis were he became the Director of Product Management and a key member of their management team. His responsibilities included leadership of product design and development teams, as well as direct involvement in the company's marketing, advertising and PR activities. Ron's skills and keen sense of market awareness enabled Advanced Gravis to establish several of its products as industry standards.

Ron left Advanced Gravis in November 1995 to initiate Digital U, later renamed PAC Management Systems. His experience in product development and management played a key role in PAC Manager’s success as the leading innovator within the cybercafé industry. After the successful sale of PAC Management Systems in 2005, Ron expanded his scope in technology consulting both within the cybercafé industry and marketing support for technology accessories. His hobbies include personal computers and related technology as well as motorcycle touring.
