Developer Biography

Ilya Shevchenko, better known as 'Luthier', is an accomplished pilot and an aviation history expert. His involvement with flight sim development started in late 1999, when he began working with Oleg Maddox on the then recently announced Il-2 Sturmovik. Working as a consultant with 1C:Maddox Games, for several years Ilya also ran, a community website dedicated to building new aircraft for the Il-2 Sturmovik series.

After Ilya created several aircraft that shipped with Forgotten Battles, the next installment in the Il-2 series, Ilya founded RRG Studios and began developing flight simulations in partnership with 1C: Maddox Games. Ilya worked as a lead developer on Pacific Fighters, a sequel to Il-2, as well as several flight simulations add-ons like Battle over Europe, Pe-2 Peshka, Sturmoviks over Manchuria, and Il-2 46.

RRG Studios is currently working on a next-generation flight sim for the PC, details of which are still being kept secret. The title is scheduled for a summer 2008 release.
