Developer BIO

In late 2004, Alex received an ultimatum from his wife: “either get help with your addiction, or start getting paid for it”. That addiction was to the Sid Meier’s Civilization game series, and a few months later he began his employ with Firaxis, working on his dream project: CIV IV.

Prior to that, Alex spent several years designing America’s Cup yachts, which had been another dream of his, since he spent his childhood sailing in the Aegean Sea.

He holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College in London, a Masters in Naval Architecture from MIT, and a Ph.D in Hydrodynamics from MIT. Alex also enjoys history, weight lifting, and dreaming about CIV V.
