Originally from St. Louis, MO, Michael has always had a strong passion for gaming and the technologies supporting it. After graduating Valedictorian from Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, MO, he continued his education by studying Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. Michael began his career as a Systems Integration Engineer before moving to San Diego, CA in 2001 to pursue a career in the interactive entertainment industry.

While in San Diego, Michael came upon an interesting opportunity with the U.S. Army which allowed him to grow as a game developer while also contribute to the nation's needs in the post-9/11 world. The Army Game Project's goal was to bring the U.S. Army's advertising and recruitment tools into the 21st century - starting with an online multiplayer PC action game called 'America's Army'. In 2003, he officially joined the America's Army development team at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA.

Originally brought onto the development team as an Assistant Producer, Michael has since filled many different roles on the development team. In 2004, he was promoted to Associate Producer while also serving the team as interim Production Assistant and IT Manager. Game design has always been an ambition of Michael's and in 2005 his role on the team was expanded to Associate Producer/Designer. In late 2005, Michael started transitioning away from production and full time into game design and took on the title of Game Designer. In 2006, he moved with the team to Emeryville, CA (San Francisco Bay Area).

In 2007, Michael was promoted to Lead Designer to lead the design efforts on the Army's all new next-generation PC game 'America's Army 3'. AA3 was released worldwide in June 2009.

In early 2010 Michael accepted a job with id Software in Dallas, TX. After contributing design efforts on RAGE, Michael is currently a Sr. Designer on the DOOM team.
