Developer Biography

Andrew Rilstone is a writer, games inventor and part time-genius.

He shot to fame in the middle-80s as the editor of Aslan, a role-playing game fanzine which pioneered ideas of systemless play, interactive story-telling and freeforms.

As a result of this, he became in quick succession, editor of Gamesman magazine, which he edited from issue 21 right the way through to issue 21, and spectacularly unemployed.

He subsequently co-founded and edited Interactive Fantasy at Hogshead Publishing, where he also co-wrote and edited some Warhammer Role-play products; was 1/3 of the designers of Once Upon a Time, a hugely successful card-game published by Atlas Games. He was a columnist and contributor to Arcane magazine throughout its two year run.

From 1996 - 2002 he worked for Hothouse Creations, where he designed "Cutthroats, Terror On the High Seas" and another forthcoming strategy sim. He occasionally walked past desks at which "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" was being produced.

He was made redundant in January, boo hiss, and is currently actively seeking employment.

He lives in a flat in Bristol, which he shares with four clangers, three daleks, a life sized model of Cerebus the Aadvark and an unfeasibly large amount of Ikea furniture.

He has an MA in Medieval Studies, which is going to come in useful one of these days.

This site is indirectly descended from both Aslan and Interactive Fantasy. It represents Andrew's increasingly idiosyncratic views on a range of subjects.
